Welcome to Malirin's Stitch House

Thank you visiting our website. My name is Malirin and for several decades, I've been in love with designing and making clothes for clients of every nationality. I was born in Laos and lived there until I completed high school. My father then sent me to Thailand, where I studied design and learned English. In 1994, I traveled to continue my training in California and lived with my grandmother for one year.

I returned home to Laos in 1995 and a year later, I decided to visit my godmother, who was living in Virginia at that time. It was during this trip that I fell in love and eventually married my husband.

I started my business shortly thereafter, designing clothes, creating accessories, producing bedding, and doing alterations for clients of every nationality for every occasion imaginable. I eventually became a part of Donna Lewis' custom tailoring and alterations team, partnering and having a place of business in Old Town Alexandria. I worked there for 16 years.

After more than 20+ years as a U.S. based designer, I decided it was time to take all of my design knowledge and experiences back home to Laos.

My storefront will open its doors to those living in and traveling through Laos. With technology and online platforms, I am able to keep the "doors" open to my clients in the United States and elsewhere. It brings me a great deal of joy and satisfaction knowing that I am able to continue servicing your custom design needs.
